The Northfield Village Fire Department is proud of its $600,000 facility at 10271 Northfield Road, its new ambulance purchased in May of 2005, and $77,000 worth of lifesaving equipment purchased largely through a grant from the National Homeland Security Firefighters Assistance Program. 

The Fire Station is staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.  Firefighters are on call by pagers the remainder of the time.
Consultant John Preuer has completed a fire service study and recommends that the Village combine its services with those of Sagamore Hills and Northfield Center Township in order to better serve all three communities in a more cost-effective way. The communities are in the process of forming a steering committee to begin discussion of a possible plan.
