THE MAYOR: |
| Mayor Victor F. Milani continues the legacy of his dad, N. Arch Milani, who served as Mayor of the Village of Northfield from 1979 to 1983 and on Village Council for over 30 years. A lifelong resident of the Village, Victor grew up with an intimate knowledge of Northfield and a burning desire to serve the Village as his father had. The realization of his dream began with his election to Council in 1997. He was elected to the Mayor’s office in 1999, and is now serving his second term. Since taking office, he has made a diligent effort to improve the Village’s appearance, image, and quality of life. He has seen his goal of bringing business and jobs back to Northfield come to fruition. Road and park projects continue to be a top priority, as has maintaining the high-quality level of department heads and employees in general through the continued emphasis on decent wages and working conditions. Mayor Milani continues to work for the enhancement of the quality of neighborhoods and life in general for all residents of the Village, and in particular for its senior citizens. During his tenure, most of the Village’s roads have been repaired, sewer projects have been completed, parks have been improved, and 60 new single-family homes have been built. The Mayor lives with his wife Irene and children Nicholas, Sam and Kaitlyn on Fell Avenue. He is a hands-on dad, devoting much of his spare time to activities with his children. He has a vested interest in ensuring that the Village of Northfield continues to be an ideal location for raising a family. |
