Pick-up Schedule:
Our waste will be collected on Thursday.
Rumpke's first day will be Thursday, October 7, 2010.

Preparing for Pick-up
Rumpke will collect your trash on Thursday. We encourage you to place your
items at the curb for collection Wednesday evening. All trash must be placed at the curb before 8 am on Thursday. Please use sturdy trash bags or cans to hold your waste at the curb. Branches should be tied into bundles that do not exceed 36 inches in length. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Rumpke at 1.888.786.7531.
Billing Information
You will receive a quarterly invoice from Rumpke. The price per house per month is $11.25, with a discount of $.50 per month for senior citizens (defined as when the primary homeowner and resident or primary lessor and resident are 65 years of age or older - please mail proof of senior discount qualification when completing the form. Rumpke offers several bill payment options, including online, check, money order or credit card by phone (a convenience fee of will apply to credit card payment made by phone.)
Bulky Items
Rumpke will collect bulky household items, such as beds, furniture, appliances, water tanks and white goods, from the curb on your regular trash collection day. Please call Rumpke 24-hours in advance to schedule a bulk item pick-up. Any appliances containing hydrocrabons or freon, such as refrigerators or air conditioners, must have the hydrocarbon or freon removed prior to collection, and the proof of removal by a certified technician must be attached to the appliance.
Community Recycling Drop-Off Location at the Village Service Department
Residents are encouraged to recycle at the community recycling location at the Village Service Department, 68 Houghton Rd. Please recycle the following items: glass beverage bottles and food jars, plastic milk containers, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, steel cans, newspaper, magazines, copy paper, paperboard (i.e.cereal boxes), envelopes and junk mail. Motor oil, anti-freeze, pesticides and herbicide containers must be completely clean and free of residue.

RECYCLABLES:
The Village has a recycle truck located at the Service Department garage at 68 Houghton Rd for residents to drop of their paper, plastic, aluminum and cardboard recyclables. Access to this truck is Monday-Friday 7:30a-3:30p.

Summit/Akron Solid Waste Managment Authority (SASWMA) SASWMA is providing a 2011 Household Hazardous Waste Collection for your community. This event will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 9am to 1pm.
The collection will take place at 9699 Valley View Road, Macedonia, OH.
This event is for residents of Summit County ONLY!
At this event we will be asking residents for a driver’s licenses and/or utility bill.

Opened in 1996, the Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center (HHWRC) was Ohio's first permanent facility where Summit County residents could safely dispose of environmentally hazardous paints, motor oil, aerosol cans and other household chemicals. The HHWRC is available for Summit County residents ONLY. No business, school, or other non-residential waste accepted.
Season: Open annually May through the end of September.

Tuesday Afternoon: 1pm to 4pm
Wednesday 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
(Note: The HHWRC will close during severe weather and severe weather warnings (lightning, strong winds, heavy rain) until it is safe to continue operations. This is for your protection and that of the technicians on site.)
